Rich has a long and diverse career in telephony. His years of experience include cable splicing, supervision of construction crews, scheduling, design engineering, managing engineering groups, operations and project management. Beginning his telephone career in Arizona with Mountain Bell in 1972, he has experienced quite a variety of interesting and challenging job opportunities; always looking to gain knowledge and new experience while helping grow and improve himself and make a positive difference in his work environment. Rich finished his first career with Qwest Communications after 32 years of service, 25 of those years in management. His next challenging position was as a project manager setting up operations for a contract engineering and construction company, Expertech. He began recruiting OSP Engineers to staff several Qwest states, and set up a local engineering office with staff to support this contract in Denver, Colorado. In May 2009, MOUNTAIN, LTD. purchased Expertech’s engineering office and hired the staff including Rich as Sr. Project Manager of Engineering Services in Lakewood, Colorado.
Rich is married to his college sweetheart, has two married sons and four granddaughters. Rich’s time off is spent enjoying his family, fishing, music (drumming), some golf and just about any outdoor activity that allows seeing the beautiful Colorado mountains and scenery.
Rich was also a citizen soldier, having spent 7 years in the US Army Reserve as a Commo Chief, and then 14 more years in the AZ National Guard as a percussionist traveling to Germany and touring Arizona supporting our troops in parades, ceremonial events and concerts.
