Overview

The Permit Coordinator position will be responsible for creating, processing, tracking & managing the lifecycles of multiple permits. This role will receive/ analyze design prints from the engineering department & process permit applications through proper city/ municipality/ utility institutions. The Permit Coordinator needs to have a strong understanding of NESC requirements, and construction practices. The ideal candidate will have a telecommunications background with field experience, understanding of the permitting process, ability to work self-sufficiently on assigned tasks, and possess strong written/ verbal communication skills to ensure cross departmental accuracy to avoid delays. 

Responsibilities

  • Process, track, and report on permit applications
  • Review and understand job prints
  • Notify engineering department/ management of any missing information or discrepancies within job prints
  • Provide continuous oversight throughout permitting process
  • Maintain permit compliance throughout permit lifecycle
  • Track permit status in ACE software
  • Facilitate & follow-up on active permits with associated parties to ensure desired company timelines are met
  • Update applicable software(s) with permit applications & status updates
  • Field calls and maintain Gmail inbox pertinent to ongoing projects and permit applications
  • Other tasks/duties as assigned by corporate and/or local operations

Qualifications:

  • Prior OSP fielding experience preferred
  • Knowledge or previous experience with the permitting process preferred
  • Must have a thorough understanding of telecommunications outside plant activities
  • Hard-working, driven, and ability work self-sufficiently on assigned tasks   
  • Strong interpersonal skills are very important to build relationships with permitting municipalities, engineering, and construction departments to facilitate permitting process
  • Thorough understanding of NESC requirements
  • Possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure accuracy & avoid delays
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Windows-based laptop with the Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, etc.), Adobe, Gmail, & Bluebeam
