How long have you been working at MOUNTAIN, LTD.

2 years and 8 months

What position/s do/have you had at MOUNTAIN?

I started out as a Telecom Support Specialist, supporting the sales and account management team. But I found that my passion was for Project Management, so that’s where I am today!

What is your favorite thing about working for MOUNTAIN?

The sense of community and the activities that are organized to bring us closer. At the rate we’re growing, it’s hard to keep up with all the newcomers.

What is one of your greatest professional highlights?

Achieving my goal of becoming a PM.

What are some opportunities that have come your way as a result of working at MOUNTAIN?

The dedication of the management team to their work, their employees, and to the growth of this company really inspired me. Because of this, I dedicated myself to becoming a better version of myself by taking courses to better my project management skills and going to school to get my Masters.

What does a typical day look like for you?

My days are filled with conference calls and Excel spreadsheet. I live in Summit, along with a few different client systems.

What did you do yesterday?

Tuesdays are what I consider my “slow days” so I only had 3 conference calls. Being the end of the month, I reviewed our progress in April for each of the states that I manage, looking for ways to improve our turn-around time, and request a heavier volume of projects (depending on the state). I also looked through billable projects to determine which ones need to be escalated for approvals.

What is something you’ve learned at MOUNTAIN that you never thought you would?

I never thought I would ever know anything about OSP or ISP aspects of the telecom industry, and now, I handle ISP projects for 13 states.

Tell us a story about a MOUNTAIN experience.

One of my favorite memories was shortly after I started at MTN. As a Telecom Support Specialist, I had the pleasure of organizing the Longevity Dinner. During the dinner, April gave speeches about the individuals being honored for their time at MTN. One of these individuals was my boss at the time, Gregg. You could tell every word April spoke was genuine and sincere. It really made me feel like I had made the right decision to join such a company that honors, respects, and celebrates its employees.

What do you like doing outside of work?

Currently, the only thing I have time for outside of work is studying. But I enjoy being outdoors, out on the water.

What are you passionate about?

My family, my education, my work!

What is your favorite movie?

It’s not a movie, but I love the show Friends. Sweet Home Alabama would be one of my top movies…I don’t have a favorite!

Thank you for all that you do, Shereen!
